Sartorius, a Goettingen, Germany-headquartered pharmaceutical and laboratory equipment provider, has appointed Gerry MacKay as executive vice president of marketing, sales, and services for its Lab Products & Services Division with immediate effect. Mr. McKay assumes the role of his predecessor, Michael Melingo. Mr. MacKay will report to Dr. Joachim Kreuzburg, chief executive officer (CEO), and be a member of the group executive committee.
Mr. MacKay joined Sartorius in 2015 through the acquisition of BioOutsource, a contract testing services company, where he had served as CEO. Prior to his tenure with BioOutsource, he held senior level positions with Entegris, a specialty chemicals and advanced materials company, Mykrolis, a company that develops, manufactures, and supplies fluid management and microcontamination control components and integrated systems for the semiconductor industry, and Millipore, a maker of biomedical research products that was acquired by Merck KGaA in 2010 and later formed into MilliporeSigma, the life sciences business of Merck KGaA.
